Latest developments:

• State Department of Health on Wednesday reported 1,177 new confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 775 cases on Oahu, 179 on Maui, 74 on Hawaii island, 68 on Kauai, seven on Molokai, six on Lanai and 68 Hawaii residents diagnosed out of state.

• There have now been 221,533 confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 155,054 on Oahu, 27,759 in Maui County (26,336 on Maui, 870 on Molokai and 553 on Lanai), 23,680 in Hawaii County and 9,919 on Kauai. A total of 5,121 Hawaii residents have been diagnosed outside of the state.

• Ten new deaths were reported Wednesday; the statewide fatality count is now at 1,191.

• Hawaii has reached a 74.9 percent vaccination rate of the total population statewide, with Honolulu County at 78 percent, Kauai County at 71 percent, Maui County at 68 percent and Hawaii County at 66 percent.

• As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, there were 41 people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Maui Memorial Medical Center -- 26 unvaccinated and 15 vaccinated, including four who received their booster shots. There were five unvaccinated patients in the ICU. There were two unvaccinated patients on a ventilator.
