COVID-19 at a Glance

Latest developments:

• State Department of Health on Wednesday reported 166 new confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 83 cases on Oahu, 24 on Hawaii island, 21 on Maui, 11 on Kauai and 27 Hawaii residents diagnosed out of state.

• There have now been 236,435 confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 163,890 on Oahu, 29,515 in Maui County (27,957 on Maui, 934 on Molokai and 624 on Lanai), 25,861 in Hawaii County and 11,448 on Kauai. A total of 5,721 Hawaii residents have been diagnosed outside of the state.

• Seven new deaths were reported Wednesday; the statewide fatality count is now at 1,341.

• Hawaii has reached a 76.5 percent vaccination rate of the total population statewide, with Honolulu County at 80 percent, Kauai County at 71 percent, Maui County at 69 percent and Hawaii County at 68 percent.

• As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, there were 11 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 at Maui Memorial Medical Center – four unvaccinated and six vaccinated, with one who received a booster shot, and one patient whose vaccination status is unknown. There was one patient in the ICU and one on a ventilator. The vaccination status of the patient is unknown.
