Maui jail clear of active COVID cases

The Maui Community Correctional Center was clear of active COVID-19 cases Monday after 10 inmates recovered, the state Department of Public Safety reported.

The clearing of cases occurred two months after the first inmate case was reported in early January at the Wailuku jail. At its peak in early February, more than 200 active inmate and employee cases were reported.
