WAILUKU -- A Molokai man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly fired a rifle in a residential area.
Kaleimaka'alii Puaa-Aki, 25, of Hoolehua was charged with prohibited possession of a firearm, second-degree reckless endangering and prohibited possession of a firearm or ammunition.
During his initial appearance Friday in Molokai District Court, convening in Wailuku, Deputy Prosecutor Peter Hanano asked for bail to be kept at $2,200 for Puaa-Aki, who is facing revocation of his probation for abuse.
Puaa-Aki had returned from court earlier in the day Wednesday and "was apparently distraught" when he discharged a firearm in a residential area, Hanano said.
Deputy Public Defender Emily Collins asked for reduced bail for Puaa-Aki.
Judge Chris Dunn kept bail at $2,200.
Court records show a bail bond was posted Friday for Puaa-Aki's release. He was ordered not to consume alcohol or illegal drugs and to report for random drug testing.
