FIRST PHOTO: Webelos II Scout River Wychulis, 11, places a U.S. flag beside a gravestone at Maui Veterans Cemetery as mom Tonya Wychulis and fellow Webelos II Scout Benton Weiss, 11, look on Saturday morning in Makawao. After each flag was placed, the boys stepped back, said the name on the grave and saluted. They said spending time among the graves was enlightening. "They're so young," Weiss said. "It's really unfortunate, the whole situation of them dying so young." "We saw one who died a day before his 21st birthday and one was a day before Christmas." The flags were being placed in preparation for this morning's Memorial Day program scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. Maui Girl Scouts were slated to place lei on the graves Sunday.
