Maui Memorial Medical Center has received an "A" grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national organization that rates hospitals' ability to prevent medical errors and harm to patients, Maui Health announced.
"The MMMC team takes the care and safety of our patients very seriously and we are constantly striving to deliver the highest quality of care," Maui Health CEO Michael Rembis said in a news release. "Receiving an A grade from Leapfrog is indicative of that commitment and we are incredibly proud of our quality improvement team and outstanding efforts from our employees and providers in earning this A."
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade system assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals throughout the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections and other harms among patients in their care.
The grading system is peer-reviewed and free to the public, with grades updated twice annually in the fall and spring.
