Maui County mayoral candidate Richard Bissen will hold a meet-and-greet event in Lahaina at 5:30 p.m. today to discuss local issues with residents.
Bissen plans to speak on his platform of "kama'aina prosperity" that focuses on kama'aina housing, good-paying kama'aina jobs, kama'aina resiliency for the environment, collective kuleana and pono politics, according to a news release from Bissen's campaign.
The free event will be held at the Lahaina Civic Center at 1840 Honoapiilani Highway. Live entertainment and chili and rice bowls will be provided (while supplies last), and door prizes will be awarded throughout the event. There will also be information on kama'aina prosperity and an area for residents to register to vote.
