Bissen to hold event in Kihei

Maui County mayoral candidate Richard Bissen will hold a meet-and-greet event at the Kihei Community Center from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today.

Bissen will discuss Kihei issues as well as his “kama’aina prosperity” platform that includes kama’aina housing, good-paying kama’aina jobs, kama’aina environmental resiliency, collective kuleana and pono politics, according to a news release from Bissen’s campaign on Wednesday. Bissen will also be available for direct questions and answers.

The free event will also include live entertainment by award-winning artist Amy Hanaiali’i Gilliom, free food (while supplies last) and door prizes. There will also be information about Bissen’s platform and an area to register to vote.
