Police arrest woman for alleged shoplifting

WAILUKU -- A woman was arrested for allegedly shoplifting from two stores Saturday afternoon.

Tea Keliikupakako, 23, of Kula was charged with second-degree theft and third-degree theft.

According to a complaint, she allegedly stole a generator valued at more than $750 from Marmac Ace Hardware and clothing valued at more than $250 from Old Navy.

During Keliikupakako's initial appearance Tuesday in Wailuku District Court, Deputy Prosecutor Lewis Littlepage asked for bail to be increased from $1,200 to $1,500 for Keliikupakako. She has a 2018 shoplifting conviction in 1st Circuit Court on Oahu, he said.

Deputy Public Defender Andres Tobar asked for Keliikupakako to be released on supervision.

Judge Blaine Kobayashi kept bail at $1,200.
