The Haiku Community Association will hold a virtual forum at 6 p.m. Wednesday for Maui County political candidates.
Candidates for Maui County mayor, Maui County Council seats that will be on the Aug. 13 primary election ballot -- Makawao-Haiku-Paia, Upcountry, Kahului and South Maui -- as well as those running for the state House and Senate seats representing the Haiku-to-Hana area, will answer questions about issues facing the community.
Due to the large number of candidates, the forum will not include questions from the audience, the association said in a news release Monday. However, questions posted on Facebook live will be collected and used for the association's October in-person candidate forum before the Nov. 8 general election.
The forum will be livestreamed at facebook.com/ haikumaui.org as well as on Akaku channel 54 and the Akaku app. A link to the livestream is also posted at haikumaui.org.
