WAILUKU -- A Kula woman was arrested for allegedly punching another woman through the open window of her vehicle Thursday night in Wailuku.
Tea Keliikupakako, 23, was charged with first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and third-degree assault.
According to a declaration filed in court to support the charges, the victim was dropping off her boyfriend at a residence on Vineyard Street at 7:53 p.m. when Keliikupakako reached into the driver's side window of the vehicle and punched the victim in the head five times. The victim was treated by medics.
Police arrested Keliikupakako in the area shortly afterward.
During her initial appearance Friday in Wailuku District Court, Deputy Prosecutor Jeffery Temas asked for bail to be increased from $1,000 to $5,000 for Keliikupakako.
She also was arrested on two bench warrants for failing to appear for a court hearing and failing to comply with conditions of her release on supervision, Temas said.
"She's out in the community on felony bail, she's not following court orders and allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman through a car window," he said.
Deputy Public Defender Emily Collins asked for Keliikupakako to be released on supervision, as she was Friday morning in her other pending case.
Judge Blaine Kobayashi set bail at $2,500.
