A 13-year-old girl was transported to the hospital in critical condition after being pulled out of a pool at a Kapalua hotel Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Officers responded to the hotel at 1 Kapalua Bay Drive, which is the address for the Montage Kapalua Bay, at 3:29 p.m.
When police arrived, the girl, a Vancouver, Wash., resident, had regained consciousness and was being treated by medics and firefighters, police said. She had been submerged in the pool, unable to surface, before being pulled onto the deck by bystanders, police said.
The girl was transported in critical condition to Maui Memorial Medical Center and later was transported to Kapiolani Medical Center on Oahu for additional treatment, police said.
