Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization taking applications for executive director

The Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization is now accepting applications to fill the role of executive director as Lauren Armstrong, who’s headed the organization since 2016, moves on to another job.
Armstrong’s last day will be Aug. 26, according to a news release from the MPO on Wednesday.
“As the MPO Policy Board Chair, I have seen that Ms. Armstrong has been instrumental in the success of the Maui MPO in meeting its federal requirements and engaging the people of Maui in transportation planning,” Maui County Council Member Yuki Lei Sugimura said. “We are grateful for all the work that she has done and wish her success in her new endeavors.”
Armstrong could not be immediately reached for comment on Wednesday afternoon.
The Maui MPO executive director is responsible for conducting and administering a multimodal 3-C (cooperative, continuing and comprehensive) planning process, according to the news release. The executive director is appointed by the Maui MPO Policy Board and is not a permanent or civil service position.
Applications may be made through governmentjobs.com/ careers/maui through 11:59 p.m. Sept. 7.
