The West Maui Taxpayers Association will host a general election candidates night on Oct. 13 at the Lahaina Civic Center social hall.

A meet-and-greet will start at 3:30 p.m. with tables outside the social hall, and complimentary food and beverage service will follow at 4:30 p.m. The program will start at 5 p.m. and will be broadcast on Akaku TV starting at 5:30 p.m.

The association plans to invite all federal, state and county candidates who will represent West Maui, including U.S. Representative District 2, State Senate District 6, State House District 14, Maui County mayor and council.

Because the event is for voter education, candidates are asked to refrain from bringing a large contingent of supporters. No signs, banners or other campaign materials will be allowed inside the civic center, and all election activities must be conducted outside at the hall table areas. Anyone who is disruptive or disrespectful will be asked to leave.
