Six residents were displaced by a fire Saturday that damaged a house as well as a neighboring residence in Hana, according to the Maui Fire Department.

Firefighters responding to the 12:30 p.m. call arrived on scene to find a one-story house on fire on Keanini Drive.

One person suffered burns to the face and arm when neighbors and family members helped an elderly woman out of the burning house before firefighters arrived, the Fire Department reported.

The fire was brought under control at 1 p.m. and extinguished at 4:30 p.m.

Damage was estimated at $65,000 to the structure and $15,000 to its contents. Another $3,200 in damage was done to a neighboring residence.

The cause of the fire was undetermined.

The six residents were being helped by the American Red Cross.
