New forms needed for farm vehicles
Farmers renewing their safety checks must use a new form for designated covered farm vehicles, the state Department of Transportation said Tuesday.
Those who have a previously approved exempt vehicle form for a farm vehicle and have a safety check up for renewal should use the new form. All previously approved exempt vehicle forms will no longer be valid once a vehicle’s current safety check expires.
Farmers should bring the previously approved exempt vehicle form along with the new “designation as a Hawaii covered farm vehicle” form to the DOT Motor Vehicle Safety Office for approval.
To access the forms, visit hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/library/motor-vehicle-safety-office/ and scroll down to the “Motor Carrier Safety Section.” Hard copies are also available at the Motor Vehicle Safety Office.
