The Rev. John Hau'oli Tomoso will celebrate Holy Eucharist as Trinity Episcopal Church by the Sea's new vicar, the church announced.
The service starts at 9 a.m. Sunday and is open to all. Worship is held in the outdoor sanctuary within the remnant walls of David Malo's historical 1850s church.
The first Sunday of each month is traditionally Hawaiian Sunday, and Tomoso follows in Malo's footsteps as a Native Hawaiian priest, according to the church.
Trinity by the Sea is located at 100 Kulanihakoi St. in Kihei.
