Self-defense class set for Friday

Maui Ki-Aikido will teach safety through awareness and readiness for sudden situations during a two-hour self-defense workshop on Friday.
The public class will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Shunshinkan Dojo located on 194 South Market, Wailuku.The class, which is open for adults and teens, will be taught by head instructor Tracy Reasoner.
The workshop will cover fundamentals of awareness and calmness in movement, as well as a few simple self-defense techniques, according to a news release.
The class fee is $10. No pre-reservation is necessary, but participants are requested to arrive by 6 p.m. to sign in. Wear comfortable loose clothing and slippers.
