Volunteers sought for Kipahulu service trip

The Friends of Haleakala National are looking for volunteers for a three-day service trip in the Kipahulu District of Haleakala National Park on November 11 through 13.

No back-packing is required on this trip, as participants will drive to the work site area. Volunteers will tent- or car-camp in the campground and prepare meals in the bunkhouse, which is equipped with a kitchen, shower and out-house.

Anticipated work, under the direction of the park's volunteer coordinator, may include greenhouse cleanup and maintenance, weeding, native plant habitat restoration, lo`i restoration on the Pipiwai trail and more.
