Water gushes from a fire hydrant that was hit by a car Sunday morning in the 200 block of Lahainaluna Road. Police said a 33-year-old Lahaina man was pulling onto the road when he hit the hydrant at 9:16 a.m. The driver fled the scene and headed north on Honoapiilani Highway before officers located the man south of Kaanapali Parkway and issued a traffic citation.
