The West Maui Greenway Plan -- a vision for a future 25-mile multiuse trail from Ukumehame to Lipoa Point -- will be presented at the Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization's Policy Board meeting at 11 a.m. Monday.
The plan completes Maui MPO's yearlong community engagement and research, as well as coordination with county parks, planning, transportation, housing and public works experts. Community supporters of the greenway were also instrumental in getting the plan completed -- a big step towards the project they have advocated for almost a decade.
Some of the plan's components include six segments of the greenway with route alternatives, proposed design, options for future management and maintenance and potential funding sources.
The meeting on Monday will be held virtually, and testimony will be accepted.
