Hawaii's U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono will answer kupuna questions on how the Inflation Reduction Act will lower prescription drug prices for Medicare recipients at a live telephone forum at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 allows Medicare to negotiate the price of prescription drugs, limits what Medicare recipients pay out of pocket for their prescriptions to $2,000 a year, caps Medicare insulin co-pays at $35 per month and provides access to free vaccines for seniors, potentially saving millions of kupuna money, according to a news release from Hirono on Wednesday.
