Iao United plans 'Blue Christmas'
For those not feeling the holiday spirit, Iao United Church of Christ is offering a more quiet, reflective way to observe the season with a Blue Christmas Service set for 7 p.m. Dec. 21.
The public is welcome to attend the service at the church at 2371 W. Vineyard St. in Wailuku.

Candlelight service set at Keawala'i
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at Keawala'i Congregational Church -- United Church of Christ will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at 5300 Makena Road.
A select choir will be under the direction of Cameron Keys, featuring soloist Leihuanani Bissen.
Anthony Pfluke is special guest musician for the service.
The program will include many familiar carols in English and Hawaiian.
Those attending will be given a candle to light for the singing of Silent Night.
Seating will be provided for 500.
Parking will be available in the church overflow parking lot and along Makena Road.

St. Anthony plans Christmas services
The Christmas 2022 Mass Schedule has been set for St. Anthony Catholic Church, beginning with Christmas Vigil Mass at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.
No other Mass is set for Christmas Eve.
Midnight Mass is set for Sunday, along with Mass at 7 and 9:30 a.m. There will be no Mass at 5 p.m.
Vigil of Mary, Mother of God Mass follows at 7 a.m. Dec. 31. Confession is at 3:30.
Mary, Mother of God Mass is at 7 and 9:30 a.m. and at 5 p.m. Jan. 1.
Reservations for Mass are no longer required. Masks are optional, and everyone is welcome.
The church is located at 1627 Mill St. in Wailuku.

St. John's Episcopal hosts holiday events
At St. John's Episcopal Church in Kula, holiday services and activities begin the afternoon of Christmas Eve.
Lesson and carols as well as building of the Nativity scene are set for 4 p.m. at the church, located at 8992 Kula Highway. Special music with harpist Tatyana Shapiro Leiste will be featured.
Carol singing with a string quartet is scheduled at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Candlelight Eucharists with guest musicians will also be featured at 8 and 10:30 p.m.
Coffee hour between services will be provided.
Holy Eucharist takes place at 8:30 a.m. on Christmas Day.
