The number of active positive COVID-19 cases among inmates at the Maui Community Correctional Center has now grown to 74, according to state Department of Public Safety data as of Tuesday.
The department had reported 68 active cases a week ago.
All of the 74 inmates are currently in medical isolation.
No active staff cases have been reported.
The Wailuku jail currently has more active cases than any other facility. Hawaii Community Correctional Center on Hawaii island has three active cases, the Halawa Correctional Facility on Oahu has one active case and the Oahu Community Correctional Center has one active case, all of which are among inmates.
