SECOND PHOTO: Prometheus Construction crew members continue work on the installation of a 20,000-square-foot soil nail and shotcrete wall at Iao Valley State Monument Wednesday morning. The massive grid of coated rebar along Wailuku River is connected to anchors set into holes drilled 35 feet into the mountain. Prometheus owner Cliff Tillotson said the hard blue rock took a toll on drill bits and the time schedule. "It was probably the hardest drilling we have done," he said. Tillotson said they expected to apply about 110 yards of shotcrete to the wall Wednesday. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-April.
