Makawao Union marks Holy Week
Holy Week will begin with Palm Sunday worship this Sunday at Makawao Union Church and conclude with Easter Sunday service on April 9.
Each service begins at 10:30 a.m. with the ringing of the historic church bell.
Both services will include the familiar scripture readings and the singing of hymns of the season, led by Music Director John Rowehl and the chancel choir.
Rev. Heather Mueller will lead Palm Sunday worship. Easter Sunday Service will be led by Rev. B. David Williams, Martha-Lee Bohn and Rev. Mueller.
A traditional Easter egg hunt will take place after the service.

St. John's holds Holy Week services
St. John's Episcopal Church will hold services throughout Holy Week, starting with Palm Sunday services at 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. this Sunday. In preparation, a work day and palm cross-making with lunch will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Services continue on Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m., followed by an all-night vigil.
Good Friday services will be held at noon and 7 p.m. April 7.
Decoration of the church for Easter is scheduled for 9 a.m to noon April 8. Easter Vigil will be held later that day at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Wailuku.
Easter Sunday worship services will take place at 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. April 9, with an Easter egg hunt following the second service.

Trinity announces Easter schedule
Trinity Episcopal Church by the Sea is inviting the public to its Holy Week services, which will begin with a Palm Sunday liturgy at 9 a.m. this Sunday.
The church will also host a Maundy Thursday liturgy at 5 p.m. Thursday and Good Friday services at noon April 7 with Stations of the Cross and Holy Communion from the Reserved Sacrament.
The Great Vigil of Easter will take place at 5 p.m. April 8 ahead of Easter Sunday morning services at 9 a.m. April 9. The Easter liturgy will be followed by an Easter egg hunt.

Waiola Church to celebrate 200 years
In celebration of 200 years, Waiola Church in Lahaina will be hosting events on Memorial Day Weekend.
Formerly Waine'e Church, it was founded in 1823 by Queen Keopuolani.
The main event is open to the public and will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 27. It will feature entertainment, historical presentations, cultural demonstrations, craft vendors, a new virtual walking tour of the graveyard and a lu'au dinner. Activities are free, though tickets will be available for the lu'au at a later date.
The Waiola Church 200th Anniversary Committee, led by Chairperson Rita Lei Medina, is also calling for 15 Maui-made-only product vendors to apply for a space at the celebration. The vendor form is available online at www.waiolachurch.org.
