Buddha's birth to be celebrated in Lahaina
The West Maui Buddhist community will celebrate the birth of the Buddha at 9:30 a.m Sunday at Lahaina Shingon Mission at 682 Luakini St.
Rev. Takayuki Meguro, the resident minister of the Shingon Mission, will deliver the Dharma talk at the Buddha Day service, and sweet tea will be offered to the Baby Buddha in the hanamido flower shrine.
The program also includes fellowship activities and a luncheon.
Lahaina Shingon Mission is hosting this observance with Lahaina Hongwanji Mission and Lahaina Jodo Mission.

Waipuna Chapel hosts Easter services
Easter services at Waipuna Chapel will begin with a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. today in a somber reflection on the crucifixion of Jesus. Children's programming through seventh grade will be provided.
Easter Sunday services are scheduled for 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m.
Services will include special music by the choir, a special gospel hula, Easter celebration songs by the worship team and a special message on the resurrection of Jesus from Pastor Shaun Waite. Children's programming will be offered for kids through seventh grade.
The chapel is located at 17 Omaopio Rd. in Kula.
There also will be a service at the Makawao campus at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Oskie Rice Arena of the rodeo site on Olinda Road. The service will include a special Easter message from Pastor Kaipo Thomas, a special gospel hula and children's programming through fifth grade.

Keawala'i church to hold sunrise service
Keawala'i Congregational Church-United Church of Christ will hold its annual Easter sunrise service starting at 7:30 a.m. Sunday on the grounds of the church at 5300 Makena Rd.
Seating will be provided for 600.
Parking will be available in the church overflow parking lot and along Makena Road.

St. Anthony Church celebrates Easter
St. Anthony Church will wrap up Holy Week observances with Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter morning services.
Good Friday services will be held at 12 and 7 p.m. today. There will be no morning Mass and no Stations of the Cross today.
An Easter Vigil Mass will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, with no morning Mass and no confessions scheduled for the day.
Easter Sunday Mass will follow at 7 and 9 a.m. Sunday. There will be no Mass in the evening.
Reservations for Mass are no longer required, and masks are optional.
