The Molokai Community Health Center's Mana Mobile Medical Clinic is expanding its services to better serve residents on the island's East Side.
Services start during World Immunization Week, which runs from April 24 through 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Maunaloa Community Center on April 24 and at the Kilohana Recreational Center on April 27. Appointments are encouraged, and walk-ins are welcome, according to a news release.
"We are excited to expand this essential service to our community," said Helen Kekalia, CEO of Molokai Community Health Center. "The Mana Mobile Medical Clinic is a vital resource for our island as it provides fast-tracked healthcare services to our most remote communities, meeting with patients close to home and even those home-bound."
The Mana Mobile Medical Clinic is a clinic on wheels staffed by a primary care provider and/or registered nurse and one support staff. It is equipped with one exam room, a restroom, vaccine refrigeration, a blood draw station and live electronic medical record integration, the news release said.
The mobile medical clinic provides a variety of services, including COVID-19 testing and vaccination, immunizations, blood pressure checks, and diabetes and cholesterol screenings to residents who may not otherwise have access to medical care. Video appointments with PCP and off-island specialists are also available in the mobile unit.
