Passing the touch

FIRST PHOTO: Retired Schaefer International Gallery Director Neida Bangerter spreads her arms Saturday at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center after a brief ceremony that marked the passing of the torch to longtime gallery staffer Jonathan Clark (background left). MACC President and CEO Art Vento (right) presented Clark with a ceremonial key to the gallery after paying tribute to Bangerter, whom he credited for her professionalism, dedication and artistic foresight. Bangerter had been with the gallery for 23 years, serving 14 as director after talking over for Darrell Orwig in 2009.
