The body of a missing 39-year-old Wailuku woman was found Sunday by a bystander who was walking along the shoreline near the Waihee River mouth, police said on Monday.
Assistant Police Chief Gregg Okamoto confirmed that the body found was that of Claire Omori and that foul play is not suspected at this time.
But he said an investigation is still ongoing, with cause of death to be determined following an autopsy.
Police sought the public's help over the weekend in finding Omori, who was reported missing Friday morning by her husband, according to the MPD Facebook page.
Surveillance footage from the home showed she left her Wailuku residence on foot around 8:10 a.m. Friday. She left her wallet, vehicle and cell phone at home. Omori's body was found around 4 p.m. Sunday by the bystander walking in the area, Okamoto said.
