The Maui County Department of Agriculture will mark its one-year anniversary with a public open house from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, weather permitting, the county announced.
The public will have an opportunity to talk with department staff and share comments and feedback at the department's office at 2154 Kaohu St. in Wailuku.
A brief program will begin at 5 p.m. and will include remarks by Mayor Richard Bissen.
The department was started in July 2022, after county residents approved a charter amendment in the November 2020 general election to establish the department.
Parking for the open house is limited to nearby street parking. After 4:30 p.m., parking will be available in the gravel parking lot fronting the building.
