The Haiku Community Association will will provide updates on its projects and activities during its next public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Paia Heritage Hall.
Presentations will include:
• Representatives of Kamehameha Schools discussing the school's recent purchase of 1,000 acres of land between Kuiaha Bay and Kakipi Gulch in the Hamakualoa area and their long- and short-term plans to care for the area.
• Jennifer Karaca of Common Ground Collective, a nonprofit focused on food security and educational programs to support community members growing more food.
• Haiku School Principal Karen Walker discussing the campus fencing project.
State and county lawmakers have also been invited to attend.
Light refreshments and pupu will be served, and snack donations are also welcome. Nonperishable food donations for Maui Food Bank are also encouraged.
