Keawala'i Congregational Church will host a concert by participants in virtuoso guitarist Ben Verdery's master class at 7 p.m. Wednesday, the church announced.
Verdery is holding his 24th classical guitar master class on Maui through Thursday, with concerts and classes taking place throughout the week at various locations on the island. Joining him this year as guest teacher is acclaimed guitarist Julian Gray, and Hawaiian guitarist and ukulele player Ian O'Sullivan.
Keawala'i will host one of the free concerts by class participants, with individual performances and pieces for guitar orchestra conducted by Verdery, Gray and O'Sullivan. There will be a small reception during intermission.
The church is located at 5300 Makena Road. Parking will be available in the church overflow parking lot and along Makena Road.
