The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association recently purchased and delivered two automatic external defibrillators to the American Red Cross Maui in response to its request for emergency assistance items for the communities of Kipahulu and Kaupo.

A rockslide in May left these areas in need of life-saving equipment when emergency medical services are delayed, according to a news release.

"In times of crises and adversity, it is heartwarming to witness the kindness and support that can emerge from our community," said American Red Cross Maui Disaster Program Manager Jenny Worth. "The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association has exemplified this spirit of generosity by stepping forward to assist those in need."

To contribute to those affected by the rockslides, contact American Red Cross Maui at (808) 254-8785 or jenny.worth@redcross.org.
