Aquarium offers self-care events
The Maui Ocean Center is offering a wellness clinic on Friday and Saturday and free park admission on Sunday to support growing mental health and self-care needs for the community after recent wildfires on Maui.
Dozens of wellness providers, such as massage therapists and counselors, have volunteered their services for a free community pop-up clinic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the parking lot outside of the Maui Ocean Center.
“As we continue down this long and difficult path, it’s important to remember to surround yourself with community and to focus on self-care and personal mental health,” Mark Matthews, marketing director at Maui Ocean Center, said in a news release Tuesday. “Please join us as local healers offer massages, bodywork, chiropractic services, stretching, mental health checks, counseling, traditional healing modalities and much more.”
The aquarium will also offer free admission for kamaaina from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, with last entry at 4 p.m.
