A long line of people wait outside the Wailuku Post Office Tuesday. Lahaina resident Ryan Nishimura (right), who was there to pick up his mail, described a harrowing escape that included fixing a flat tire as the fire raged around him. "It was really horrible," Nishimura said. "We only had seconds to get out. I could only save my dog." He said a bystander helped him fix the flat by the Lahaina Hongwanji Mission on Wainee Street. "I'm still in disbelief and shock," he said. "It was moving so fast. Honestly, I didn't think I would make it out. I was seeing people on the ground. I couldn't do anything to help."
