Walmart waives fees for orders to Hawaii
Walmart is waiving the standard location surcharge for all online orders shipped to the Hawaiian Islands along with the minimum cart fee associated with orders under $35 that are shipped to addresses on Maui.
These waivers will remain in effect through the end of October and will be applied automatically during checkout, a spokesperson said Wednesday.
Walmart’s store, pharmacy and vision center at 101 Pakaula St. in Kahului will continue to be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Walmart and the Walmart Foundation donated $400,000 to local nonprofits on Aug. 11 to help with fire relief efforts, including $250,000 to Maui United Way, with 100 percent of proceeds regranted to local organizations and financial assistance to people who survived the fire; and $150,000 to the American Red Cross to help with shelters and providing food and aid to survivors.
