Picture perfect

FIRST PHOTO: Makawao artist Deb Lynch creates a painting of St. John's Episcopal Church Friday afternoon on the first day of the Kula church's Holiday Marketplace. She said the painting will be offered in the marketplace's silent auction. The event is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and offers crafters, baked goods, plants, produce, a gift shop and quilt display. Lynch, who is a member of the church, said she was also helping out in the kitchen. "I love the people who attend here," she said. "It's warm, it's welcoming, it's inclusive, it's just like family."
