A resource ‘for life and learning’
Kahului grandmother Julia Conlin reads to grandson Merick Baker, 3, Tuesday afternoon at the Kahului Public Library.
Conlin said she hoped to teach Merick the value of using a public library. “To use it as a resource for life and learning,” she said.
The library on School Street near Cupies opened at noon Tuesday after being closed three years for renovations that are ongoing.
It is scheduled to be open noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
“The Kahului staff is very happy to be back in the library and excited to provide library services to the community. We welcome everyone to come and visit us,” Colleen Galvin, branch manager at Kahului Library.
