Dan and his staffers and volunteers distributed 350 Ohana ukuleles to west side students on behalf of the National Pawnbrokers Association (NPA) and Hawaii Pawnbrokers Association. Dan said the event was held in honor of his daughter in law, Sarina Smith, who was a victim of the Lahaina fire. He said he got the idea for the giveaway when so many customers came into his store after the wildfires looking for replacement ukuleles. "I was glad to help," Dan said. "The sweetness has brought joy to my life."
