Nursing TEAS exam prep course offered
Pre-nursing students residing on Maui can enroll in a free Spring 2024 exam preparation course for the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS), which is the admission exam for nursing schools.
The 10-week course will run from Feb. 12 to April 25. Classes will be held online on Monday evenings and in person on Thursday evenings at UH-Maui College.
Once students pass the course, their TEAS exam fees will be covered, according to a news release.

Akaku to host community event
Akaku Maui Community Media will host its free Community Connection Day event from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, at the Akaku Center in Kahului.
There will be nonprofit booths, live entertainment, a karaoke contest and opportunities to learn more about Akaku Maui Community Media.

Rotary club to host youth shelter director
David Litman will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Kihei-Wailea’s meeting at 11:45 a.m. on Jan. 10, at Kihei Lutheran Church.
Litman is the director of programs and training for Hale Pono Youth Shelter. He will talk about the youth shelter and its current and planned programs.
