Work continues Wednesday on the new 136-room Maui Palms Hotel and Suites by Hampton Inn being built along Kahului Harbor between Maui Beach Hotel and Maui Seaside Hotel. The wood-frame project includes two four-story buildings connected by a single-story lobby building that includes a pool, restaurant and bar. RVC Construction Inc. is the general contractor. The hotel along Kaahumanu Avenue is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2025. It is being built on the site of the former Maui Palms Hotel, which opened in the 1950s and operated for around 40 years before closing and eventually being demolished in 2002.
