Kahului Hongwanji to host bazaar today
Kahului Hongwanji will host its annual Spring Bazaar from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday on the temple grounds located at 291 S. Puunene Ave.
Food items for sale will include chow fun, Korean chicken from 808 Plates food truck, Spam musubi, chili, Chinese pretzels and baked goods.
There will be plants, a country store and plenty of rummage items. Attendees should bring a reusable bag for purchases.

World Peace Event to be held Sunday
A World Peace Event concert and film screening will be held at 3 p.m. on March 24 at the Iao Theater in Wailuku.
There will be performances by local slack key guitarist Jeff Peterson and Tibetan flautist Nawang Khechog. There will also be a screening of "Tibetan Illusion Destroyer 3D."
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Mahala Hou Foundation.

Maui Strong support group to meet March 27
National Alliance on Mental Illness Hawaii and Mental Health America of Hawaii will host a Maui Strong support group meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on March 27 at the Maui Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic in Lahaina.
There is no cost to attend and water and snacks will be provided.
The Maui Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic is located at 1830 Honoapiilani Hwy., just below the Lahaina Civic Center.

Deason Baybayanto perform March 28
Local musician Deason Baybayan will perform a free outdoor concert at 6 p.m. on March 28, at Hale Ho'ike'ike at the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku.
Baybayan is the cofounder of the musical group Lahaina Grown.
The concert is part of Lahaina Restoration Foundation's Hawaiian Music Series, which has been a tradition for 16 years in Lahaina, with performances held on the last Thursday of every month.
Attendees are asked to bring blankets, mats or low-back beach chairs. Free parking is available.

Preparedness event set for March 29-30
The "Do I Need This" Kupuna Preparedness Event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on March 29, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 30 in Room 144 of the Ike Lea Building at UH-Maui College.
The free event is intended to provide support and guidance to families who are navigating the challenges of downsizing and moving elderly family members, according to a news release.
Attendees will have an opportunity to engage with industry experts in elder law, financial planning, hospice care and assisted living. There will also be a panel discussion, a question-and-answer session and a screening of the documentary "Do I Need This."

Lahaina career fair set for April 4
The inaugural Lahaina Career Fair and Pop-Up Makeke will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 4 at the Lahaina Civic Center.
There will be small business booths, door prizes, food trucks and locally made products for sale. Admission is free.
The event is organized by the County of Maui's Office of Economic Development, Maui American Job Center and the UH-Maui College Extended Learning and Workforce Development program.
There are two scheduled webinars in advance of the event. A webinar covering resources for families who need childcare will be held at 11 a.m. on March 27. A webinar covering career training opportunities, hands-on learning and career coaching will be held at 11 a.m. on March 28.
