Kirsten Eastwood, VP of Scholarship Programs at ACE Scholarships (Alliance for Choice in Education), a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to K-12 education opportunities, today presented a $105,000 grant to Sacred Hearts School in Lahaina, Hawaii to offset tuition costs for families displaced by the wildfires.

Middle school lead teacher and history instructor Dr. Patty Wurst accepted the check on behalf of the school. Principal Tonata Lolesio was off-site accepting a principal leadership award from the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) in Pennsylvania.

ACE Scholarships does not typically provide scholarship opportunities in Hawaii--but given the need, the organization was able to provide this one-time grant thanks to generous donors.

Following the check presentation and special assembly, humanities teacher and development/admissions officer Yvette Richards gave Kirsten a tour of the school and explained how Sacred Hearts has creatively adapted to the temporary space while the new school site in Kaanapali is under construction.
