The 2024 Sunflower Farm Music Festival rocks Maui

The 2024 Sunflower Farm Music Festival on Saturday saw Maui and Mainland musicians come together to benefit Maui non-profits, Common Ground Collective, the Maui Hub, and Grow Some Good.
"It was a success even before we started," said Pacific Biodiesel Technologies' Kelly King. "Just the idea of having something like this in the middle of the sunflower field that represents food and fuel security for us and everybody coming together and understanding that any time a disaster happens, whether it's flood or fire, the first thing we think about is how are we going to feed our people."
Performers included Beach Boys' co-founder Al Jardine, guitarist Jeff Baxter, Guns N' Roses' guitarist Gilby Clarke, Mathew and Gunnar Nelson, David Bowie band bassist Carmine Rojas, Stray Cats' drummer Slim Jim Phantom, Tower of Power drummer Russ McKinnon, keyboardist Larry Dvoskin, Eagles of Death Metal bassist Jennie Vee, Sunflower Festival producer Kerry Brown, and American Idol finalist Julia Gargano. Hawaii musicians included John Cruz, George Kahumoku Jr., Tavana, Marty Dread, Gretchen Rhodes, Benny Uyetake, Gail Swanson, and Maui fireman Jerry "Pito" Javier.
