Three West Side Rotary Clubs collect school supplies and funds for students in need
The Maui News
KAHULUI–On a recent weekend, three West Maui Rotary Clubs came together to host highly successful drives aimed at collecting school supplies for children in need. In just three days, a total of 15 boxes of school supplies and over $1300 in funds were gathered.
The first drive took place on Friday, July 19, organized by the Rotary Club of Lahaina to benefit students at Maui Prep Academy and Sacred Hearts Schools. The following day, on Saturday, July 20, the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset took the lead in collecting supplies for the children of Princess Nahienaena and Hana Schools.
Finally, on Sunday, July 21, the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise conducted a collection drive for the students of King Kamehameha III Elementary School. The collected supplies and funds will be distributed to the respective schools after school resumes on August 5th.
The Rotary clubs expressed their gratitude to the Lahaina Cannery Mall and CBRE Property Management Pacific Southwest for their support in allowing the clubs to set up collection tables at the mall entrance next to Long’s. This support was crucial in ensuring the success of the drives.
These school supplies drives are just a few examples of the many community service projects that the Rotary Clubs of West Maui undertake. Rotary is a leadership organization comprised of local businesses, professionals, and civic leaders.
