Seed to Cup Coffee Festival is coming to the Maui Tropical Plantation on Aug. 18

MAUI--The Maui Coffee Association (MCA) is thrilled to announce the 2024 Seed to Cup Coffee Festival, taking place on Sunday, August 18th, from 9 am to 4 pm at the beautiful Maui Tropical Plantation. This event is free and open to the public, inviting coffee enthusiasts and curious visitors alike to celebrate and explore the vibrant coffee culture of Maui.

The MCA is a group of growers, service providers, merchants, and enthusiasts dedicated to promoting coffee grown in Maui County, Hawaii. Our mission is to improve awareness and communication between growers and other segments of the Maui coffee industry. Through community events, farm tours, cupping workshops, and other opportunities, we represent Maui Coffee and the associated industry to the public, the County, and our State Government.

The festival will feature a variety of activities and attractions, including:

9:30 a.m.-10 a.m.: Namaka Pauole & Chayce Tancayo

10:05 a.m.-10:15 a.m.: Hawaiian Blessing

10:15 a.m.-10:45 a.m.: Jacaranda Trio

10:55 a.m.-11:10 a.m.: Zenshin Daiko Drummers

11:15 a.m.-11:55 a.m.: Maui Jazz & Blues Festival Band featuring Fast Freddy & the Blue Lava Blues Band

12:10 p.m.-12:40 p.m.: Tarvin Makia & Al Villaren

12:55 p.m.-2 p.m.: Kanekoa

2:15 p.m.-2:45 p.m.: Lahela Lee Park

3 p.m.-3:45 p.m.: Lahaina Grown

The entertainment has been produced by award winning Maui Filmmaker & Promoter Ken Martinez Burgmaier for 14 years. "it's an honor working & supporting the local coffee, farmers and creating a wonderful community event that shares their passion to produce the best coffee in the world, and to celebrate with some of Hawaii's finest musicians performing" says Martinez Burgmaier

In addition to the scheduled performances, festival-goers can look forward to:

Meet the Farmers & Roasters: Engage with local coffee farmers and roasters, learn about their craft, and gain insight into the journey from seed to cup.

Coffee and Chocolate Pairing Hosted by Maui Ku'ia Estate Chocolate and MND Coffee Lab: Explore your own sensory and taste experiences, while learning different styles of cold brewed coffee.

Mixology Mocktail Demonstrations using coffee by Tikehau Lounge: Enjoy innovative mocktails featuring coffee as a key ingredient.

Taste the Roast: Highlighting the many talented coffee roasters on Maui, interactive, educational and fun. Coffee provided by O'o Farm, Kula, 1st place winner of the Maui District at the 2024 HCA Cupping.

Barista Throw Down: Enjoy a competitive barista showdown where skilled baristas showcase their talents in crafting the finest coffee beverages.

Coffee Inspired Food & Drinks: Savor a variety of food and drink options inspired by coffee, highlighting the versatility and rich flavors of Maui coffee.

Made on Maui Coffee Inspired Gear & Art: Discover unique, locally made coffee-inspired gear and art, perfect for coffee lovers and collectors.

This annual festival is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Maui's coffee scene, connect with the local community, and enjoy a day filled with coffee, education, and entertainment.
