WAILUKU--Maui Farm Events announce its upcoming lineup of immersive workshops this week with classes for October and November, featuring hands-on experiences that highlight Maui's natural beauty and resources.
The series features hands-on experiences and educational events that showcase Maui's natural beauty and resources. In collaboration with local artisans and experts, Maui Farm Events is offering a range of workshops designed to inspire creativity and self-care, while immersing participants in the local flora, food, and traditions of the island at some of Maui's favorite farm locations.
Participants can choose from the following Fall Special Events:
Lei Po'o Workshop: Oct. 10 and Nov. 14 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m., Lahaina Honey & Flower Farm in Launiupoko:
Join us for an immersive three-hour workshop where you'll learn the art of crafting a traditional lei po'o (head lei). Guided by Lei Maui owner, Caitlyn Madrid, participants will work with local foliage and vibrant flowers, mastering the intricate wili (twist) technique. This hands-on experience provides an opportunity to explore pattern design and floral preparation, leaving you with a beautifully crafted lei po'o and a deeper appreciation for this timeless Hawaiian tradition.
Keiki Stargazing Event: Oct. 11, 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m., Lahaina Honey & Flower Farm in Launiupoko:
Bring your family for a magical evening under the stars at our Keiki Stargazing event, hosted by Maui's own Stargazers Anonymous. This interactive experience allows children to explore the wonders of the night sky, learning about constellations, planets, and celestial phenomena through telescopes and expert guidance. The event fosters curiosity and excitement about astronomy in a fun, engaging way. Keiki-friendly snacks will be provided, making it an evening the whole family will enjoy.
Tea Blending Workshop: Oct. 19, 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m., Lahaina Honey & Flower Farm in Launiupoko:
Join Maui Tea Shack owner Melissa McLaughlin for a hands-on workshop where you'll craft three seasonal tea blends using organic, island-inspired ingredients. Learn about the unique wellness properties of each ingredient while creating blends that soothe, energize, and promote balance. The experience includes a guided tea tasting, with each blend paired thoughtfully with light snacks to elevate your sensory journey. This workshop offers a perfect blend of education, relaxation, and flavor discovery.
Starry Nights and Culinary Delights Oct. 25 and Nov. 8, 7 p.m.-10 p.m., Maui Gold Pineapple Farm in Hali'imaile:
Begin your evening with an exceptional dinner at the renowned Hali'imaile General Store, where Maui's local ingredients take center stage. Afterward, venture to a private event deck within the serene Maui Gold Pineapple Farm for an unforgettable stargazing session led by Maui's Stargazers Anonymous. Under the vast island sky, enjoy a guided exploration of the stars with expert commentary, making this a magical evening of culinary and celestial delights.
