Nāpili Farmers Market, run by longtime operator Local Harvest, is expanding its services to a daily operation for several of its vendors at the Alaeloa Business Center early next year.

The new 3,200-square-foot home at the Center, 4900 Honoapiilani Highway, will include two more commercial kitchens as well as store stalls for Maui Fruit Ninja, Chuchi Bakery and Coffee, Aloha Raw, Sattvic Kitchen Cafe, and Local Harvest Market.

Local Harvest founder Steve Phillips said his overall business has been growing by 15 to 20 percent over the last couple of years with the aim of helping local growers produce more food to become more self-sufficient.

“This is not something we can do alone,” he said.

We need to help local companies as much as possible.”

Local Harvest is also involved in shipping Maui grown produce to other islands and encouraging businesses to produce value added food items.

Local Harvest is continuing its Napili Farmers Market in the Center’s parking lot from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays and Wednesdays, offering fresh Maui produce as well as prepared food, including vegetarian and vegan dishes and Argentinian, Mexican, Italian and Indian specialties.

The expansion is part of Maui Land & Pineapple Company’s efforts to support small farmers, promote local food production and repurpose its land and buildings to aid West Maui’s recovery from the August 2023 wildfires, according to spokesperson Kristen Kunimura.

Like many farmer’s markets on Maui, vendors including startup businesses have the opportunity to introduce and test the market for their products.

For more information, call Kunimura at (808) 531-6087, ext. 110.

Starting at $4.80/week.
