In the January 2025 report to the Board of Education, Hawai'i Department of Education Superintendent Keith Hayashi provided updates on new leadership appointments in the department including Baldwin-Kekaulike-Kūlanihāko’i-Maui Complex Area Superintendent Lori Yatsushiro.
Hayashi recognized student teams from Baldwin High, Palisades Elementary, and ʻĪao Intermediate schools, who won $5,000 per team in the Design Intelligence Lab contest for creating a chatbot using artificial intelligence to address real-world student issues.
